Software:

- Matt on VSkype – I hate it, completely destroyed my audio…let us know what you think?
- Skylook update from Paul - Records at 24KHZ and 32 KBPS. For podcasting we need 44.1 Khz and at least 64 kbps Emailed Skylook about this and recieved this email from Jeremy Hague: " To answer your questions about Skylook: In a future release, Skylook will allow our users to ‘adjust’ the quality at which the MP3 file is encoded at. Thanks for sending through your requirements at which Skylook would have to record the MP3 file at (44.1mhz and 64kbps or higher). We have had a number of people write in that have expressed interest in having the option inside Skylook to adjust the quality of the recording. We are also considering the option of offering support for other file formats that Skylook can record to (apart from MP3). " (Paul) I'm very excited about the development of this software! Yes I said, "excited" ok! Will this support Thunderbird?

Play List Builder
News Caster, reads RSS news feeds to you. (I couldn't figure out how to do this.)
Supports VIDEO!
Once Click Subscription
NOT iTunes! HAHA??
Buy it now FULL VERSION BETA for PC for $12.47
CON:

Nothing really... price maybe? ---> $24.95 ---> remember I'm cheap.
OVERALL: 8
Full version program for $24.95, packed with features. 30 day trial so you have time to try it out. This also has it's own directory and is not dependent on some one elses. I used a different "podcatcher" and discovered the directory was broken a few days ago. It was using iPodderX's directory. Good move on iPodderX... was it intentional?

During the previous spring of 2001, Ben became the youngest person ever (at 23) to attempt an unsupported 'all the way' North Pole expedition, along with fellow Briton Pen Hadow -- a challenge described by Reinhold Messner as 'ten times as hard as Everest.' The worst conditions in 17 years forced the pair to stop just days from the Pole, after surviving polar bear attacks, frostbite and enduring 8 weeks of skiing nearly 400 miles through icy headwinds and temperatures below -40 C.

Questions from our listeners

- Ribelt at Mortgage Broking Podcast http://www.mypodcast.com.au/mbp/ emailed us and wanted our opinions on:
- Are there any realistic alternatives to iTunes as it appears to be the easiest for listeners.
- How long will it be before the flood of curious interest dies down in podcasting and it's left to the serious long term player.
- With all the curious and casual podcasters out there will we reach a time when podcasting will be like the web with just too much content.
- How realistic is it to use Podcasting as a business tool.
- Josh Czikowski from AU - the “Healthcast podcast. He emailed us and asked us to submit his feed to iTunes because AU is blocked! We discuss how to create an iTunes compatible RSS feed, Feedburner as a RSS solution, and how to update your details in itunes.
